For us, Kamptal is far more than just a wine region. It’s a place where Grüner Veltliner, regional cuisine and the landscape naturally belong together. It’s here that the connection between enjoyment and origin emerges organically – no planning required.
Our Grüner Veltliner Wechselberg is exemplary of this region. Its freshness, delicate spice and clear structure make it a versatile companion to the regional cuisine of Kamptal. It adapts, supports flavors and brings liveliness to the glass – without pushing itself to the fore.
The region’s cuisine is characterized by seasonality, down-to-earth authenticity and clarity. These very qualities are reflected in Grüner Veltliner. Its lively acidity, often subtle spice and moderate alcohol level make it especially enjoyable – both with light dishes and with classic tavern fare.
For us, food and wine pairing isn’t a matter of rules, but of intuition. Grüner Veltliner from Kamptal works because it’s rooted here – where many of the ingredients also originate.
Many inns and culinary establishments in the surrounding area deliberately focus on regional wines and also offer wines from our winery. We’re especially pleased that here wine isn’t staged, but part of everyday life: a glass with a meal, another for toasting and one more to conclude a successful day.
This proximity between cuisine and wine defines the culinary character of Kamptal – honest, unpretentious and pleasurable.
