Single vineyard Heiligenstein in Zöbing, Kamptal

The bedrock of Riesling culture.

The heart of Riesling.

The legendary Ried Heiligenstein is considered one of Austria’s great single vineyards for Riesling Kamptal DAC. On 270-million-year-old bedrock of desert sandstone, the vines root deeply into the terraces. Intense sunshine and cool winds from the Waldviertel shape the grapes equally. Here, wines with saline minerality, distinctive clarity and remarkable aging potential are produced.

Quality that grows.

Origin with a personal signature.

Single vineyard wines are the most precise reflection of their origin. They speak of the interplay between soil, single vineyard and microclimate – expressing the distinctiveness of each Ried with depth and complexity.

Village wines reveal the typical character of their place of origin. They combine regional influence with the distinctive geological and climatic characteristics of the area – a clear expression of terroir.

Fruity, fresh and crisp – the regional wines exemplify Kamptal. Shaped by cool nights, sunny days and the valley’s diverse influences, they bring the regional style authentically into the glass.

In Kamptal, the climate produces wines with character.

The Kamptal DAC region is shaped by the dynamic interplay of two climatic poles: warm, Pannonian air currents from the southeast meet cool breezes from the northwestern Waldviertel. These contrasts ensure fresh nights, a long growing season, and delicate aromatic expression. With approximately 550 mm of rainfall and an average annual temperature of 10 °C, stable conditions arise in which expressive wines can thrive.

For me, Ried Heiligenstein is a monument to Riesling – wines crafted here set benchmarks across generations.
