Riesling Kamptal DAC 2017

Harvest Date: October 11th, at 19° KMW.
Location and single-vineyard description: Gaisberg is one of the best sites of the Kamptal. In the south-western part, where our vines thrive, crystalline of the Bohemian Mass is predominant. The heat of the sun is stored by the steep terraces during the day and given off during the cool nights.
Vinification: The fruit was wonderfully ripe and very healthy. The berries were macerated for 15 hours before being pressed off and preclarified for 20 hours. The must was then fermented using a special yeast for Rieslings.
Weinanalyse: 13 % vol. alcohol, 7.0 ‰ acidity, 5.4 g/l residual sugar
Tasting notes: On the nose this starts out with a wave of citrus, then becoming increasingly impressive with marzipan and peach; its voluminous body rapidly releases the fruit, the residual sugar perfectly offsetting its acidity; with an attractively lingering aftertaste; displays high drinkability and a classic varietal character. A wine to enjoy with food, especially fish food.
