Grüner Veltliner Kamptal DAC 2017
Yield: 35 hl per hectare
Harvest Date: October 8th, at 19.5° KMW.
Location and single-vineyard description: GV Lamm is a very concentrated Gruene Veltliner with long body but grace. Ried Lamm is the slight slope, facing south, on the foot of the Heiligenstein. There is deep loam and loess. Fermentation and maturing of Ried Lamm is taking place in oak-barrels.
Vinification: This highly ripe must was preclarified for 15 hours; it was then fermented in 1000-liter Allier oak barrels. The lees were stirred for 4 months and afterwards the wine was bottled directly from them.
Weinanalyse: 13.5% vol. alcohol, 5.3‰ acidity, 1.5 g/l residual sugar
Tasting notes: Full, almost velvety nose with subtle sweet spice and profound yellow fruit aromas, smoky, reminiscent of bees wax; deliciously juicy, supple texture, transparent and balanced, honey melon flavors, a touch of residual sugar, very long finish with notes of tobacco, very good ageing potential.
